Fragments d’existence

Le commencement de mon voyage en pays électronique, en flashback direction 2013. La description sur Soundcloud était un truc comme : « Batteur de Punk-Hardcore cherchant la douceur mais toujours en quête d’intensité » A l’époque j’écoutais du dubstep oldschool dans les emissions de Mary Ann Hobbs sur la BBC, Bonobo, The Cinematic Orchestra, Mogwai et j’étais encore marqué par les albums de Godspeed You ! Black Emperor qu’on écoutait entre camarades, quelque peu enfumés dans le calme de la nuit. On peut le sentir dans cette electronica post-rockesque naive qui est de fait le premier truc de moi que j’ai suffisamment aimé techniquement et musicalement, en prise avec une galère pour rendre mes productions moins répétitives et apprendre le mixage avec peu d’outils et de connaissances.
La substance, fortement samplée, est construite façon Hip-hop à l’ancienne, avec des bouts de son que j’ai organisés et fait concorder mélodiquement et harmoniquement.
Il y a des choix que je ferais différemment, les musiques world et classique sont des visées un peu faciles à sampler, mais mon intention et le travail rythmique fourni font que je les aime toujours bien !

The very beginning of my electronic journey, back to 2013, the description on Soundcloud was something like: « Punk hardcore drummer looking for sweetness but still in need of intensity »
Back then, I was listening to some early Dubstep acts through Mary Ann Hobbs on BBC Radio 1, Bonobo, the Cinematic orchestra. Mogwai, and was impregnated of Godspeed You ! Black Emperor that I was fond of late 90’s which I used to listen, quite stoned at night with comrades. It can be felt in this naive post-rockish electronica that constitutes the first stuff I was proud and satisfied of, musically, technically out of a difficult struggle to make things less repetitive and to learn mixing a bit, with few tools and knowledge.
The matter, heavily sampled was made in an old school hip hop fashion, chopping out and trying to organize those fragments of music so that they could match in tune and harmony.
Maybe some choices I’d make differently, classical and world music are quite easy/cheesy targets for sampling but the intention and rhythmic work allow me to like it still !
